Anxiety

It has become a pattern for me to make sporadic updates here, mostly in the same vein - about how I'm neglecting this space etc etc. But yet I always make it a point to come back because it's still therapeutic for me to write down my thoughts as a reflection of sorts, even if they're coming out vague to a third person.

The final semester of university has been going by quickly. We're well on our way to the finale of our FYP, 1.5 more months to go and this will all be over in the larger sense (though some things will continue to run). I've been submitting my applications here and there and really have been hoping for the best. I must admit though, all these have been a large source of anxiety for me and I'm having trouble sleeping again.

I find myself often torn between wanting to savour the present and its irretrievable essence, and skipping ahead to the future where things are more settled. It's a needless dilemma of course, time will move at its own pace regardless of my whims.

Fingers crossed.

Cherry's Birthday Dinner

Photographs from the day we celebrated Cherry's birthday! The last month of 2015 was pretty hectic so I didn't have the time to dream up the perfect present for her so instead, I took her out on an all expense night out of fun. We had a pretty good time, hehe.

But of course I went to give these pups their dinner first!

My birthday girl.

We didn't do much, just a simple night at the movies then drinks and food after. We watched the final instalment of The Hunger Games, which I found riveting and she a little draggy.

Always laughter with this girl.

A girly drink for me, beer for her, and ribs for both.

Love you to the moon and back <3

The Picture of Dorian Gray

"You may fancy yourself safe and think yourself strong. But a chance tone of colour in a room or a morning sky, a particular perfume that you had once loved and that brings subtle memories with it, a line from a forgotten poem that you had come across again, a cadence from a piece of music that you had ceased to play. I tell you Dorian, that it is on things like these that our lives depend."

Photo Update: 8th - 10th December

Once again, I'm hopelessly behind with my updates. Here're a smattering of photographs from the second week of December, I don't even remember much of what I was doing except that 1. I was finally exam free, 2. Was dog sitting for Jessy & Danny, 3. Soliciting for more BFF partners, 4. Engaging in observations in NUH.

Such a sweetie.

Happiness summed up in a picture.

Wednesday date night with the boy.

He brought me to play with his neighbourhood friend!

Then one of my favourite dessert places!

Lonely lunch break at the hospital.

It was really an eye-opener observing at the stroke ward at NUH, as well as the outpatient ward. I learnt so many things in just one day! Things have been moving along pretty quickly and I'm crossing my fingers tightly that little experiences like these will help me out!

"We wish we could show you the world as it sleeps. Then you'd never have any doubt about how similar, how trusting, how astounding and vulnerable we all are."

7th Dec: Girls Day Out Across the Causeway

Lili and I went over to JB for a short one-day getaway earlier in December for a completely girly spa day. It was loads of fun because we basically just ate and chilled out, it was nice to get away for a bit:

But first we stopped by the pups' place to give them some breakfast!

Love them to bits.

First stop at JB! We arrived pretty early so most of the restaurants were not opened, thankfully this Korean one was!

We were starving

Time for nails! We both did mani pedis so this took a good 1.5 hours.

Extremely pleased with my christmas nails, the quality was topnotch as well, they lasted a full month!

After that we had a full body massage and then...

We went for a hair wash and blow dry, hehe.

Pampering got us pretty hungry so we went for the awesome Malaysian style BKT!

Some shopping at the mall. By evening we were exhausted so we decided to jet back home.

Paid just RM1.5 to take a bus to the Causeway! It was an amazing day <3

Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?

"I didn't want to be in the teeming mass of the working class... I didn't want to live and die in the same place with only a week at the seaside in between. I dreamed of escape - but what is terrible about industrialisation is that it makes escape necessary."

- Jeanette Winterson
