19th May 2019: Museum x Seira

Woke up to terrible haze 4th day in a row.

But got a professional hair was with a puppy so that was good hehe.

Dude went for "breakfast" while I was getting my hair done, but that looks like a lot of food man.

Contemporary art museum time!

Can relate.

Not too sure what these had to do with the exhibitions, but the museum shop had pretty stuff.

Psychedelic walls at the museum's cafe.

Wandering around Xin Tian Di, not sure what this dude is doing lol.

More fluffy friends!

Snackie time!

Dinner at a fancy Si Chuan place with my jiejie Seira! I'm not really a big fan of this cuisine but she chose such a lovely place I couldn't say no. So I just endured the mala haha.

The peppercorns making me cringe so hard.

They had these crazy alcoholic drinks though! Love the dramatisation

I got to take this fan home too??

Off for dessert after a short walk post-dinner hehe.

<3 Can't believe she looks exactly the same even after so much time has passed.

Popsicle with champagne hehe.

Jiejie then brought us to another cool bar - which I never would've found myself haha.

Tiny crepe which tasted AMAZING.

Cool industrial toilet.

Fancy cocktails before we stumbled back to the hotel and I collapsed in the bed lol.

The Journey

“One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice --
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do --
determined to save
the only life you could save.”

18th May 2019: Shanghai - Dumplings

Updates from Furlentina about Tofu's holiday fun with his friends.

Woke up bright and early to head to the museum!

Except when we arrived, we realised that it was a PH in China so EVERYONE ELSE wanted to go to the museum too. So we gave up and walked to the city to search for food.

First some snackies at a Lawson since Sam loves oden.

So pleased to find Yang's Dumpling!

Waiting in anticipation.

Beautiful sheng jian baooooos. My favourite kind of bao.

Sam piling on chilli as usual.

Met a little baby on our post-dumplings stroll.

Found more oden but we were already full hehe.

Checking into our actual hotel before heading out again.

More snacks?!

Checking out Qi Pu Lu which is where we used to shop all the time when we interned there (7 years ago or so). It has changed dramatically and I couldn't find anything nice or affordable to purchase unfortunately.

Did meet a qt though!

Beer time for my sweetheart.

I got a little bored from beer so I took a little walk.

Found a quaint little cake shop and managed to convince Sam to return to it after the beer.

Such a hipster neighbourhood.

Cakie time! It didn't taste amazing but it was pretty nice.

Met this cutie on our post-cake walk. Lots of eats and walks I'm now realising.

Thanks for the kisses.

This was outside a pet supply store, we went in to get a ball for Tofu #guiltyparents

Dinner time!

Pleased because Sam got to have his noodles (he adores noodles) and I got XLBs hehe.

The only thing I bought that day: Cat pyjamas hahaha.

Dragged ourselves out of our hotel to walk 25 minutes to The Bund.

So pretty.
