Fields of gold

So last week Glen and I ventured out to take pictures amidst the beautiful flowers that were sprouting everywhere. I'm currently at a cafe in Prague and there's so much to update with, so I'm going to do this slowly - will update with every batch of photographs.

Brilliant whole patches of yellow everywhere.

The ground was damp and sticky because it rained the entire afternoon before but I didn't give a shit and laid down anyway because I was so disappointed about the weather earlier in the day!

May have been a mistake to wear my brand new sandals out into muddy fields, but I thought they'd look lovely in contrast :3

So happy that we made it! Loads have happened since, have been to Gothenburg with Bettie and Yulin after a few flight/transport fiascos and as mentioned, am currently at Prague. Can't wait to update on Gothenburg, it was absolutely amazing (:

Love, or Something Like Love

"The journey of desire is a long voyage into the heart, into the depth and height of mystery that is man. Some perish in the dark sea, others falter in their search, and only a few survive to take hold of the prize, the heart of a lover, fully alive."

- O Thiam Chin

Miss Me Not

"'It's amazing,' I answered truthfully before I could think about it. The words spilled out on their own accord. My social skills that had been stunted for so long were slowly emerging like a turtle would from his shell when he feels safe. What was it about these people? Why did I suddenly have the urge to trust them? Trust was a double-edged sword. It could give you hope, but it could cut you in an instant when it was broken."

- Tiffany King

Goodbye Party

A few nights back, Glen and I hosted a goodbye dinner for our friends here in Uppsala. For many of us, this will be the last time that we'll be seeing each other in Europe. Fortunately for the Singaporeans, we'll probably be able to meet up once in a while when we're back home, for the rest, it's probably goodbye for a long long time. I'm extremely thankful to have met these wonderful people who made my stay here absolutely delightful. I guess the bonds forged when you're in a foreign land can seem extra special since you only have each other.

Anh & Chang made traditional Vietnamese pancakes for us!

Faris was in charge of chicken as usual.

About 1/3 of the food for our feast!

Major hole for the rice & soup, the food was overwhelming, we finished only about half.

Sean made some ombre cake & Fathin made chocolate cookies! Yummers.

Thanks for everything guys (:

Scaling Mountains in Docksta

I've been taking a whole lot of photographs lately and am falling behind with the uploading. In any case, here are photos from when we went to Docksta - climbed 2 mountains and nearly died from exhaustion on both days. It was plenty of fun though! I never thought that I'd ever scale a mountain; vertically, with all my limbs.. Hahahaha:

It was an extremely tiny town, hardly any one around.

The cabin that the 4 of us shared!

Getting started for all the climbing :P

Pretty legit shit

After a gruelling 2.5 hours of climbing and groping and grasping (where my life flashed before my eyes multiple times), we finally reached the top!

The view was spectacular.

The next day we hiked for 6 hours up another mountain in the National Park. It's a UNESCO heritage site, really pretty.

Didn't see any other humans for almost 2 hours before spotting this ice-hockey team!

This was the highest point, stopped here for phototaking and a picnic!

Started making our descent down.

Around noon-2pm, we started seeing more and more fellow hikers, many of them had dogs!

Adorable Swedish couple that offered to drive us back to Docksta. We were extremely grateful to meet them because there was no other way for us to get down to town (we got a lift up to the park, only 15mins drive, but it would take more than 5 hours to walk back).

Complimentary breakfast on our last morning!

Sat at the pier while waiting for our bus.

These sweeties whipped out a birthday "cake" and card for me, totally took me by surprise! (:

It was a pretty amazing trip; don't think I've ever felt as worn out as I felt on it, but everything was well worth it!
