Dear Poem

I haven’t written you in a long time.
A sudden window winks open.
The sky has my father’s
beaten face. I missed you. I missed how
you comforted me the way you
comfort me now with your wide-eyed
lucidity, the languor of the patient
unfurling of yourself, luxuriously
disregarding the latest betrayal
like a headline stark across the front
page of my face. But I will not
write about it here, along the margin
of your insides, although you are in love
with such unsung facts – the pearly whitehead
on my chin, that faint odour from my feet
scaling the air’s ladder into the previous line –
and why not? Who cares if someone else
would never believe that such things
may not also be poetic?
But now I want only to talk of you.
How many like you have I already
composed with such authentic chords
of truth, loud and clear within them.
My beloved one-night-stand
who never stops coming
to love me at all the right times:
after unbearable grief
or after every rare moment
of contentment, even joy.
You who never lie except when I
want you to, if only to augment a distant
but more vital truth. I love you,
dear poem. I love you
because you hold pain up upon
the quiet of your palm, raising it
so I might see it in the best possible light.

15th Feb 2017: Mandoon Winery x Marget River Choc x Elizabeth Quay

Made breakfast for mum & me!

The first picture I've ever seen of my sweet baby Tofu :#

Off to the city to meet the Mills! We haven't seen them in 7 years but they still look exactly the same, still sweet as ever too (:

Exchanging long due birthday presents.

We went to check out Mandoon Winery.

Only got here around 2.30pm and was absolutely starving.

Was so grateful when the food came.

SO GOOD.

We barely made it here, glad to arrive just 15mins before they closed and got to try and buy a couple of stuff!

Off to Elizabeth Quay for a walk!

Ciaoooooo, oh how i love Ciaooooo <3

Tiramisu heaven :')

The Way the Light Reflects

The paint doesn’t move the way the light reflects,
so what’s there to be faithful to? I am faithful
to you, darling. I say it to the paint. The bird floats
in the unfinished sky with nothing to hold it.
The man stands, the day shines. His insides and
his outsides kept apart with an imaginary line—
thick and rude and imaginary because there is
no separation, fallacy of the local body, paint
on paint. I have my body and you have yours.
Believe it if you can. Negative space is silly.
When you bang on the wall you have to remember
you’re on both sides of it already but go ahead,
yell at yourself. Some people don’t understand
anything. They see the man but not the light,
they see the field but not the varnish. There is no
light in the paint, so how can you argue with them?
They are probably right anyway. I paint in his face
and I paint it out again. There is a question
I am afraid to ask: to supply the world with what?

Moving to Perth: 11th-15th Feb 2017

So the day finally came. My flight was at 0740 in the morning and this girl woke up at the crack of dawn to come see me off :')

This dude stayed over my place and stayed up most of the night so that he could make it here too.

Singapore Sling at 10am is never a good idea, but I feel like the rules of time don't really apply when you're on the plane hehe.

We had a pretty eventful first day, arriving in the afternoon and then immediately viewing 3 places. The first two were disappointing but the last had great potential despite the initial look of it.

Ended up making a firm decision after pondering about it after dinner and eased up the rest of our visit by cancelling the rest of our viewings.

Made breakfast for my parents.

Then a full day of shopping to fuel mum's mood. Look at the cute stuff they have!!

Found the perfect laundry basket!

Picking out presents for my nephew!

Quick break for lunch!

hahahahaha.

Met up with a good old friend of mum's.

They brought us for an amazing dinner!

The next day we met up with Marje who's the sweetest (:

I got a rug (haha my dad is so cute).

And more presents for my nephew :P

Took mum to the city!

Managed to find a place still open after 6pm for dinner!

Ribs and sweet potato fries, can't beat that.

Moving day arrived! Packed all my swizzle and got ready to go!

Strawbs and ice cream for dinner is the best (:

CKT at Carousel's Noodling was pretty legit!

Their Nasi Lemak did not taste bad, but it did not taste like nasi lemak at all ): just rice and chicken lol.

Took my folks out for V Day dinner.

 <3

Out early the next day to go shopping again lol

But lunch first! I finally had the vietnamese pork chop rice yasssss.

London Street

Chilling in my backyard for the first time (:

Unpacking my kitchenware

Initial rearrangement of the furniture.

Thai dinner because we were exhausted after all the unpacking (:
