Last Weekend: Museum Tripping & Byebye Juli

There has been a flurry of activity within the arts and museum scene in Singapore lately, with Art Stage present and a myriad of new exhibitions at a variety of different museums. Sam and I are huge museum enthusiasts but we only have a couple of hours each weekend to spare so we've been very sore about missing out on a lot of things. Still, we try our best. Here are pictorials from our museum trip last weekend:

First photograph I took with my new toy.

I was still on medication from my throat infection, a couple of them had to be taken 3 times a day after food - so I dragged myself outta bed to scrounge up some breakfast. If it weren't for the medicine, I would've probably slept the morning away.

Was uncharacteristically inspired to wear jeans despite the sweltering heat.

The boy was late so I had time to join an insane queue for this cup of heaven and then finish it and enjoy a leisurely read before he arrived.

Visiting the SAM, which incidentally was where we had our... fourth date (okay 4th isn't really an important or significant number but it was a really nice day and I like recalling it okay??? *defensive*).

New kicks, which I've scuffed already. I'm terribly rough.

"Please, the lighting is so fantastic. Please can we take a picture???"
"Allllllright...."

There was a screening in this chapel hall, but we missed it.

Not real books. I was impressed, they looked really amazing!

You have a vintage camera? I have a vintage (kinda) camera!

Headed to the airport to have dinner because we were sending Juli off. I was starving at this point because I had a super early lunch and it was already 8pm. Scarfed down this pasta.

Juli flew off to Scotland for her 6 months exchange programme, I miss her already :'(

Long bus ride from the airport back to town, I fell into deep sleep after this photograph was taken. It was another long ride from town back home, slept like a baby. I love the weekends (:

Photograph Update: 18-23 Jan

Some work day photos that are generally boring but taken anyway because I clearly cannot control myself:

Setting off for mass!

This Korean fare was surprisingly cheap, $4+ for a whole lot of meat!

Short queue at the notorious llaollao!

The partnerships got themselves some too.

Reminiscing about Sweden and her amazing weather.

Monday came all too soon.

Bored (but rarely lonely it seems, at the office anyway) while waiting for my lunchbox to be done in the microwave.

This day I got bitten by an angsty child in my attempt to prevent him from biting another more helpless kid, unfortunately my arm was in the direct line of attack. He had a good set of teeth on him I must say, even through a mouthful of cardigan fabric, he tore skin and made puncture marks.

So my personal qtpai who was scheduled to come have lunch with me, came bearing antiseptic cream for my wound :3

A rare out of office lunch for me on Thursday. This was actually really good but I couldn't enjoy it because I was having a terrible sore throat. That then developed into a full blown full & fever type affliction which the doctor later diagnosed as a "throat infection". That confined me to the house for a day because I was so weak (it did feel nice to sleep in though).

Cooped up at home being sick, so... Take pictures of plastic bags flying in the wind. Lol.

Also acquired myself a new baby a week ago.

When I was all better, I headed out for a quick dinner and catch up session with my linlin.

We missed our reservation at FEP and ended up heading to Orchard Central to queue up for almost an hour just to eat this glorious spread. I have no regrets.

It was a good night :3

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future."

Quick Chat

I've been so swamped between office hours and thrice weekly tuition lessons. Things have been moving along well though, I've been learning a lot of things from the therapists and teachers at work and the research and writing component of my job has also shed a lot of insight. In the next couple of months I'm intending to be working on some courses as well as volunteering and doing my FYP, so it's going to be a busy year. Here's hoping I come out on top of it all.

Atlas Shrugged

"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists... It is real... It is possible... It's yours."

Weekend Adventure 17 Jan

Photographs from last weekend:

We finally went to try out the much raved about 163 kekoumian!

Excited girls!!

It was great! Not amazing, but good. Hehehehe. Could've also been because we were super hungry.

Happy darlings <3

Went to say hi to the bonbons at BPP!

QTpai :3

It was a crazy sunny day. After this the boy accompanied me to a university fair and was a great champ helping me to queue up at long lines - must've been really boring for him, but with his help, I managed to get all the information I need!

After all that, we went for an interactive art exhibition at Golden Mile!

Pretty good dinner for coffee shop! Amazing chicken and duck spaghetti for only $7.80.

Because we're cool night animals (lololol as if, I was falling asleep), we went for some music festival at Aliwal!

After that we took a slow stroll to Clark Quay because the weather was amazing. Pity the boy's face is all blurred out here ): But it was such a lovely weekend :3
