19th - 20th August 2018: Rottnest Island Brunch

Woke up early to drive to Fremantle and still nearly missed our ferry to Rottnest Island. It was quite expensive so I don't know if I would do it again, but it was beautiful.

Quokkas! The silly thing was that soon after this, I was overwhelmed by extreme fatigue. I had taken motion sickness pills too late for them to take effect (still felt sick on the ferry) but they also kind of knocked me out. I was very much a lifeless lump for the last 2 hours of our time on the island.

Snackies by the water.

 They're too cute!

Some puppies back on shore.

Because my sister has a sweet tooth, I got her this gigantic ice-cream cake lol.

Honestly went to very few cafes outside of my immediate area when I lived in Perth. Got to visit this places because I was hosting my sister.

 Buttermilk waffles! So good!

More touristy stuff.

 My beauty.

Way too much thai food for the two of us.

And a giant tart hehe.

Touch

"My brother used to ask the birds to forgive him; that sounds senseless but it is right; for all is like the ocean, all things flow and touch each other; a disturbance in one place is felt at the other end of the world." — Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

18th August 2018: Sis Birthday

Picked my sister up from the airport at the crack of dawn, took a snooze, and then off for a day of fun!

First things first: Brunch!

Nine Fine Food is still my favourite <3

A Thing of Shreds and Patches

"Time is neither linear nor broken but fully present in each moment. And while it is true, as Sebald writes, that the dead return to us, I find it more accurate to say that we are the dead, forever returning, and we return, naively and habitually, to places and people of both suffering and bliss." — J’Lyn Chapman, “The Sentence of Absolute Time and Space”.
