Going au natural in Soderkoping

So over the weekend, a bunch of us kids went down to Soderkoping to "be one with nature". I added quotation marks because we were far from roughing it out in the wild; stayed in an adorable little cabin and.. drove around a lot. Here's photographic documentation of our adventures:

We rented a huge family van and drove off!

Pit-stop at Braviken!

Took a walk down to check out the huge lake (looked more like part of a sea). The sun was bright but the wind was so chilly that we were shivering.

Got to our camp site after 3 hours of driving, took us a while to check in because the entire place was quiet and kinda deserted -> the owner wasn't home.

Huge common area in the huge shared cabin (we had a 6-person room), it belonged to us solely because none of the other rooms were in use :D

Our bedroom! 4 bunk beds and one large sofa bed!

By the time we went grocery shopping and settled down, it was already 7pm. I was starving so we got down to cooking.

Ran out to catch the sunset!

After 2 hours of preparation and hardcore cooking, we finally had dinner at 9pm.

The next morning we prepared for our BBQ! Awesome sambal fish with lime :3

We had a version grilled in honey as well!

On the way to the castle, we passed by a summer market and decided to check it out.

Saw little kids doing facepainting so...

We got our faces painted as well!

Huge puppy we saw frolicking around.

We found fellow kitties and took a picture to commemorate!

Such adorable twin girls <3

There was also a beautiful church in the centre of the summer fair!

And Faris won some cheese there!

Puppies everywhere <3

We finally got to our original destination, the castle by the pier! But of course, we spent a good half an hour or so taking pictures at the beautiful pier; ignoring the castle for a bit :P

Chang was crazy, balancing on the tiny beam to take a picture on a stranger's boat.

Trying to be a flower child.

Hello castle in ruins!

Hung out at the top of the ruins, enjoying the glorious sun.

These crazies climbed precariously down (and then up) to the high points of the ruins to take pictures, Deb and I were too terrified of falling to follow in their footsteps.

So we took pictures for them from safety :P

Lunch time by another pier, I've no idea what this lake was called - perhaps it was at another side of the same one. We brought Sean's portable cooker and heated up our pasta and hotdogs :3

Got back "home" around 7 and started prepping for our BBQ! The amount of food was insane.

The next morning we prepped for lunch before checking out. Made home-baked fries, potatoes, left over fish and pasta!

Drove out to Stockholm for yet another picnic because the sun was glorious

Took a quick walk around the area, we wanted to visit some museums but there wasn't much time so we just took pictures and laughed a lot.

Our last stop: drove to Bjorno, it was beach-like. The water was glistening in the sun, felt super tired after all the nonstop activities, but this was pretty breathtaking.

So the boys decided to take a hike up to the nature observation tower because the road was closed (only for private use), Zj and I stayed in the van to hang out because we were too tired/cold/lazy for trekking. Waited a good 2 hours or so before heading back to Uppsala.

T'was an amazing trip :3
