Pole Dancing in Poland

So I made a 4 day trip to Poland with a couple of girls because our class schedules were open and we found cheap-ish tickets! Been back for 2 days and am leaving for Lapland tomorrow evening! Lots of travelling in the month of March. Glen and I will have 3 days to start and finish our final assignment for theology class when we're back from this trip and then the boy will be here! Super happy and excited (:

The weather has been absolutely fantastic for the past two days, lots of sunshine - flowers are even starting to bloom. It's still pretty chilly at night though, especially when the wind blows. Hoping that the weather will be lovely when the boy is here (:

Anyhow, here's an overview of our Polish adventure:

Took the Swebus to Nykoping!

We had about 2 hours to kill so we walked around, wanted to see the Nykoping Castle etc, but they were too far.

We all brought lunchboxes to share :3

Took a quick bus to Skavsta Airport

Budget terminal which was super super secluded and slightly creepy. We only arrive in Warsaw around 9pm and then in the city around 10pm. We were lot for an awfully long time before finally getting to our b&b well after midnight to shower and crash.

Weather was amazing the next day!

The things are waaaaaay cheaper than in Sweden!

We were so excited to finally see a food court at Europe. This costs about $8sgd, not too bad at all!

And fro-yo at long last!

Visited the Warsaw National Museum

Super huge medieval section that contained mostly religious paintings and sculptures.

Various 1700-1800 art collection, ranging from symbolism-realism-impressionism-post-impressionism etc.

Contemporary art exhibition!

The place was pretty huge, didn't manage to cover the entire building but it was still a good time :3

Set off to the old town!

My camera battery died somewhere at this point. Still super bummed out about that because I thought that the old town was the most beautiful place we went to by far. The architecture was breath-taking and there was an absolutely beautiful sunset. In a central square, there was also an open air ice-skating rink and a myriad of fairy lights. So so beautiful.

Fathin at our lovely B&B, it was really clean and compact. Perfect for us, just didn't manage to take any nice pictures of it.

We initially intended to take a train to Krakow for a day (4-5hours journey) but it was too expensive so we stayed in Warsaw!

They're street graffiti is insane!

Visited the famous Warsaw Rising Museum, basically a war museum!

Adorable coat-check token!

Found this amazing restaurant to have lunch at. The prices were really reasonable, especially for such a beautiful place & amazing food. After 2 months of exorbitant Sweden, this made me so so excited :P

Lemonade

Hot chocolate with chilli powder

Goose leg with turnip & pear

Potato pancake with mushroom sauce

After lunch we walked over an hour to find a park!

Turns out it was the wrong season though, so there wasn't much to see!

Decided to walk back home because we were all so exhausted from waking up at 5am and walking for hours.

After slothing around for almost 2 hours, we ran out for vietnamese food! It was really cheap and yummy.

On the last day we bought Kinder Surprises!

Deb got a top!

Thought Fathin's was the cutest of all, a tiny koala hugging a tree!

I got a rather boyish toy car!

Finally got on the correct train to the airport, went through lots of complications/trying to decipher vigorous hand gestures from the Poles etc/running through stations etc.

Anh got an adorable little robot!

Sunlight was amazing at the airport.

Was actually strangely relieved to be back in Uppsala. Had a lot of fun but was so so exhausted. Now, the travelling continues. Hehehhee :3
