4th day on our holiday in BKK was a slower one, we had already "chionged" for a large part of the first 3 days so we were more relaxed here - though no less crazy during our shopping spree as this time we explored the Pratunam Market more thoroughly with amazing results!
But first, some fuel for the day at the local food stalls! As I mentioned before, our hotel is right in the heart of the market, less than a minute away from the main shopping area which follows this street where the food is. There was quite a selection and as always, we were mega excited to eat authentic and cheap Thai food :3
Quick pic of my manicure from the previous day, I was really pleased with the cat! She was hand drawn and beautifully done!
We shared a bowl of tomyum rice noodles and it came with an assortment of ingredients like chicken slices, meatballs, radish slices etc. It only cost 60 baht (equivalent to around S$2.40).
Didn't take too many pictures at the market because it had many narrow lanes which made photo taking a little difficult. We only spent about an hour or two here and got ourselves some good buys, however it was nowhere as good as our haul when we visited it again for the last time the following day (to be updated).
When we were getting hungry again, we adjourned at Platinum Mall to eat at their food court. This is my all time favourite duck noodles with sweet sauce. The portion looks small to most but it's just nice for me, I love it so so so so so much.
The only downer about the food court is that payment is not by cash, you have to pay for a cash card of sorts to use at their stalls. We decided to get these cute custard puffs since we had some spare money left in our card. The card itself isn't that bad though, you can get the remaining money left in it refunded to you if you can't finish using it - it's just a slight hassle.
One of my favourite shops in Platinum Mall. It's on the second topmost floor at the corner near the banks. They sell loads of adorable bags, pouches, earrings, notebooks etc that entice me to buy and never use so I had to control myself haha.
Kinda succumbed here and got the one with the fries :P
And uh, got the lipstick pouch to use for a pencil case (which is TOTALLY justified because I lost my previous one...). That was all I got from the shop which I think was a job well done methinks :P
Happy girlies checking out the other floors in Platinum which we did not manage to explore the previous day.
Qt found loads of 2-piece sets which she loved.
Words cannot express how much I regret not buying this dress, I felt that it was too expensive and so I left......... RAAAAAAGRETS :'(
I LOVE ALL THESE CORK MADE ITEMS, I WANTED THEM ALLLLLLLLL (but contented with only one item... I am such an adult).
Still, not too bad a loot at all.
After dumping all our shizzle at the hotel, we took a long walk to Siam to meet my family for dinner!
Parents gave us a treat at a nice Thai restaurant that had fancy authentic local food!
SO NOMZZZZZ.
We later adjourned to the much raved about After You Cafe. We were all kinda stuffed but couldn't resist trying it out since it was so nearby.
Really adorable layout and merchandise.
We tried their best selling item - Shibuya Honey Toast. Shared this between the 5 of us and it was more than enough. Verdict - Every bit amazing as they say.
Back to the parent's hotel room to celebrate my sister's 26th birthday, god we're all getting old....
It amazes me how we are two complete opposites, love her nonetheless (even when I'm going out of my mind trying to deal with her at times hahahaha).
Then my onigiri and I headed back to our hotel to get a massage so that we could get all our aches pressed away~~
Met this qt during our search for supper.
And another baby.
BASIL CHICKEN RICE FOREVER.
Mega pleased with the loot for the day :3
