We had a layover at Gatwick and went absolutely crazy at the M&S store, the new summer display is so colourful and attractive! Insanely awesome marketing tactic <3
Dinner/supper during our 7 hour layover, I officially hate overnight layovers - so uncomfortable, they drive me insane.
We arrived at Nice around 9am but our B&B wasn't ready for us so we traipsed around looking for some food, chanced upon this amazing looking take away store.
With a sexy French man manning the chicken grill ;) We bought some pasta and beef, it was glorious.
I love looking at fresh juicy fruits :3
Took a stroll down town!
And made friends with a qtpai.
Got increasingly excited looking at the glooooorious beach!
We climbed all the way to the top (which is a lot higher than it looks here), it was so insanely tiring especially in the blazing sun but it was well worth it because...
The view was absolutely amazing <3
Stopped for icecream before heading down because we were exhausted.
Snapped another shot of Nice from the other side of the highpoint as we were making our way down.
Walked down to another side of town where there were loads of quaint shops, cafes and squares.
Huge water/fountain park and playground in the centre of the city, the whole area stretched quite far and loads of kids were running around :3
We had an incredibly immense Asian buffet dinner in celebration of Sam's birthday! The amount we ate was unreal to say the least.
We were delirious by the end of the night, crashed almost as soon as we got back to the apartment.
The next morning we nearly killed ourselves with a huge breakfast again. I could only eat half of mine and kept decided to keep half for lunch, but I was still so incredibly full at lunch time that I only ate it the following morning for breakfast :P
I went to hang out at the beach by myself because Glen & Sam wanted to check out the markets and other places in town.
It was beautiful, I had such an amazing time spending all day there.
On our third day we went into town to take a bus to Monaco. Passed by this beautiful museum which I regret not making time for, but it was still lovely to check out the exterior - the architecture was pretty spectacular (especially when we drove through). It was only a 45-60mins bus ride but the ride was pretty bumpy and I felt real sick when we got off.
Thankfully, the weather was quite lovely with a gentle breeze so I felt better after walking around a little. We walked all the way up a palace to see the view from the top. Monaco is an extremely opulent city, there were signs of excess everywhere; hundreds of boats at various docks, extravagant looking casinos, luxury stores, high class restaurants etc etc.
Their tiny streets were really cute and we saw heaps of adorable memorabilia and touristy stuff.
A super bublegumpop-ish snack store that we chanced upon, Glen had a crepe here and I bought...
Speculoo biscuits for the boy and his sisters! I was charmed by the cute box :3
I can't remember the name of this church, but apparently Grace Kelly got married in here.
Ended our third day after a long bus stop ride back to Nice with ice-cream!
Glen & I spent our fourth and last day at the beach relaxing, first time at a pebble beach!
It's so lovely being at a beach and enjoying the sun without perspiring buckets like we do in Singapore. No wonder European people like going to the beach and wonder why we screw our faces in disgust at the thought of... sand and sweat..
The pebbles were so painful to walk on though!
Me trying to make it back to our towel without dying from the pain of the pebbles on my feet.
Pigging out on the beach!
Glen skipping stones.
The beaches are near the airport so we saw many planes flying overhead.
Had some amazingly yummy tasting pho before leaving for the airport!
Saying goodbye to Nice :')
Our last meal in Nice; Paul at the airport because our flight got delayed 2-3 hours due to the strikes. I love Nice, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
