GOing to GOthenburg

So Glen and I are on transit at Oslo right now, 7-8 hours to our flight back to Stockholm and the eduroam connection is superb so I'm making use of it :3

On the night before Yulin & Bettie were due to arrive at Stockholm, I got a disturbing whatsapp message from them around midnight. Because I had to be up at 5am to catch the bus to the airport, I went to bed unusually early. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have woken up to read the message in the middle of the night, but it was fortunate that I did because it informed me that they had a flight mishap at Doha and would be stranded there for a few hours - hence, they would not be able to come to Stockholm (the pre-arranged plan was to meet at Stockholm and fly to Gothenburg together). They would fly directly to Gothenburg from Munich on a transfer flight but only arrive more than 8 hours after the scheduled time. The message left me bewildered and I felt a sudden wave of loneliness; I had been alone in our big house for 3 days in Uppsala because both my landlady and Glen were away. The idea of making my way to the airport and then to Gothenburg for a full day by myself all of a sudden was incredibly depressing. Thankfully though, I ended up having a pretty good time by myself. Spent 3 days with the girls before leaving for Prague to meet Glen, our escapades in photographic proof:

Thankful that the B&B was really easy to find. It was really lovely and hipster looking, hehe.

Walked by a vintage store as I was wandering the city.

Beautiful cathedral I passed by, it was insanely quiet and peaceful.

Wanted to visit the art museum which is apparently the best one in Gothenburg/Sweden, but it was closed due to some kind of demonstration against racism.

Here are some of the protestors!

Cute little buddy I made friends with!

Visited the Castle Garden (but didn't see the castle, lol).

Had my cool Hello Kitty drink and enjoyed it with the awesome sun, grass and novel :3

These two finally arrived safely! :3

Played with this little qt.

Until this one came to scare it off, hehe.

Our neighbourhood!

We were all tired so we went out for a nice Italian dinner!

Adjourned at a quiet pub for a drink.

Yulin's eyes were closing and she kept nodding off so we made a quick exit back to the B&B and slept till morning, hehe.

Breakfast because the two of them were craving for instant noodles for some reason.

Visited an awesome flea market! They sold really cool stuff at low prices, we spent over 5 hours there. Absolutely amazing.

Hot Swedish girl selling organic shiz.

We were exhausted after all the shopping so we went grocery shopping and had an late lunch/early dinner!

Then we headed out again for a night of fun!

Except the sun was still up for a long long time.

Lisberg (biggest theme park in Scandinavia was closing in 30mins but they let us in for free to take photographs!

Pity we didn't have any time to take the rides :S

Breakfast for champions!

Visited Haga!

After another late lunch, I went back to the apartment by myself to nap and pack before leaving for Stockholm where I transited for a few hours alone, for the first time in my life. It was a rather ghastly experience really. Started off relatively well, I was finally convinced that it was safe to sleep because everyone else in the vicinity seemed to be doing so. About an hour later however, we were disturbed by a loud-mouth Swedish speaking middle-eastern lady, telling everyone to move over so that she and her son could sleep. Naturally, everyone told her to piss off as politely as possible and I went back to sleep. Less than an hour later though, I was rudely awakened by having my suitcase pulled out from underneath my head by the same lady. Had a rough tussle with her and basically got real nasty; there were two women beside me (one young and one middle-aged) who backed me up so I didn't feel particularly threatened, but it totally spoiled my mood for sleeping.

Thankfully though, I spent the next 3 hours talking to the young lady who turned out to be a Swedish girl returning from a 3 year long stay in Australia. She was really lovely and we had a pretty nice time. My flight and arrival at Prague went pretty smoothly for which I'm extremely grateful for (:
