Arrived safely at our apartment at Prague, exhausted after my nightmarish stay at the airport. It wasn't ready till noon and I touched down in the morning so I was relieved to finally be able to rest, the only problem was that that was no free wifi and that disturbed me immensely because I was alone in a foreign place.
Ran downstairs to get a sim-card from a newsagent but this proved to be unexpectedly difficult, apparently it isn't common to buy 3G simcards. I searched for over an hour before finally finding a telco shop where I got slightly ripped off for my 3G access, at that point of time though, I was just glad to finally find what I wanted. Walked back to the apartment to crash, just in time because it started storming as soon as I hit the sheets.
Woke up in the evening in search of food and stumbled upon this adorable Vietnamese place.
Had amazing pho for less than $6, excited me because everything in Sweden/most of Europe is so expensive and I haven't had any food outside for less than $10 in a long long time. The soup was extra comforting because it was real chilly due to the rain.
Walked past a cathedral.
Had dessert at a cafe next door to the apartment to leech on their free wifi.
The dessert was really good and really too much for just one person but I finished it anyway. Stayed till 9.30pm before I went back to crash.
The next morning I had breakfast at a coffee house nearby the apartment.
Glen finally arrived at Prague and we starting exploring the town! It was still raining though so the skies were gloomy.
Street performers at Wenseslas Square
Walked around for almost an hour in search of Jap food but many of the recommended places were high-end restaurants. Finally settled on this Chinese fusion place.
We shared some kind of Chinese x Japanese bento
And also some sushi!
Walked over 45mins to find the Communist Museum which was actually only 10 mins away, I blame googlemaps.
Finally made it there!
We bought some fruits and called it a day.
3rd day
Breakfast at a baguette place nearby our place, it was inexpensive and really yummy!
Decided to stay indoors at museums for the entire day because it was forecasted to rain the entire day again. We were freezing every time we even ventured outside to change locations.
Visited the Prague Gallery of Art first!
Salvador Dali exhibition
Lunch time at a cute burger bar!
It was pretty damn tasty!
Spent a long time looking for Artbanka museum only to find out that it has been closed for 2 years. A nice art guide recommended another huge art museum for us to visit (I can't remember the Czech name right now), and though we only had 1-2 hours left to walk around when we got there, I had no regrets at all - it was amazing.
6 sleek amazing floors.
Couldn't resist taking another picture of all the floors.
Tired and shivering with cold, we took away pho to share in our apartment and huddled up till the next day.
On our last day, the sun was finally out! It was a pity that we had to check out so we dragged all our possessions and deposited them at some lockers before continuing our exploration of the city. We reserved this day for all the outdoor monuments because of the splendid weather!
Municipal building
Adorable street performer!
Hanging out by the Charles Bridge
I am frequently exhausted these days :P
Yet another bridge, filled with people.
Took forever to get this shot because there was a bunch of inconsiderate Taiwanese tourists who kept walking into the shot to take pictures of themselves though I was already standing there.
More performers on the bridge!
Beautiful Old Town
Kids being excited about huge bubbles!
We climbed up a long flight of stairs
Together with many other tourists
To arrive at this view
Outside the Royal Palace
St Vitus Cathedral
Royal Garden
They had owls!
Having some fun with cherubs
Finally said goodbye to the city and headed to the airport.
$1.30 pizza slices for dinner because we ran out of Czech crowns to buy stuff!
On board the plane to Oslo where we would stop for our 9 hour transit, thus concluding the trip. I loved Prague, my only tiny grouse was the bad weather; it was perfect otherwise.
