Can't remember why we met up at Vivo City that night, that's quite uncharacteristic of us. Decided to walk over to Habourfront because it would be quieter there and was disappointed to find that Breeks was no longer there. That was short-lived though because the Korean place that took over had AMAZING food. I had the beef bugolgi rice and Sam had pork belly noodles. We also ordered fried gyoza and flame seared beef sushi. Clearly it was all too much for us, my beef bowl by itself was already huge but man did it taste amazing. I forgot what's the name of the place, but the only two outlets are at Habourfront and Jurong Point.
Parents went to a friend's place and sent me this picture of Prince the Goldie x Spitz.
Such a big baby cuddling up to my dad! That night when I went home though, I somehow hurt my back terribly. It had been aching more than usual for the past 2 weeks but I somehow made it worse by sitting incorrectly on the floor. Battled the searing pain all night and saw a doctor in the morning. Thankfully the pain dialled back a little by the time it was time for me to go to work.
Glad I went in to work anyway, look at these faces :3
More babies hehe.
Disgusting pills I had to take for 2 weeks for my pain, they look cute and harmless but they're actually terribly difficult to swallow because they have a tendency to stick to the walls of your throat/mouth, I hate them.
Lunch time with my Lili before heading to work, I was relieving a class and she was my assistant for the day.
Playing a game with the kiddos. I actually taught them for half a year last year before moving on to phonics at other centres.
Chinatown for date night!
Met such a friendly little kitty.
Look at her asking for sayings!
That was ironic because we were headed to the Company of Cats to pay to hang out with more kitties haha. The cats there were pretty calm, not particularly friendly but at least they were not averse to humans. I realised that a lot of animal cafes are strange that way, the animals do NOT want to be around the patrons. I guess a large part of it is because they get man handled too much but also, I suspect they haven't been socialised well.
Fluffy kitty :3 I really liked this place more than any other animal cafe I've ever been to though. The place was really quiet and tranquil with soft music playing in the background. The couple of other patrons who were there at the same time as me were quiet as respectful of the cats and the other people as well.
There were stacks of Archie Comics lol my guilty pleasure. They also had an assortment of books across different genres, a large number somehow related to cats but a good selection of non-cat books too haha. The owner seems to be a fan of Singapore lit as well and they had a good collection of books from Math Paper Press! I was really impressed.
Some cat games if you prefer to be more interactive with your friends. There isn't much of a selection for food but we ordered sausages with mash which came in some kind of Japanese savoury x tangy sauce and seaweed. There was a complimentary drink that came with the entrance fee, you can top up a small fee for a selection of some fancier drinks lol (by fancier I mean anything that is not a canned drink).
Such a pretty little baby.
Overall I really enjoyed the experience and would've loved to stay longer but we couldn't because Sam was really hungry and the sausages wasn't enough for him. There were a couple of other food options but I think most of them had cheese and he can't have them because he is lactose intolerant. It was also rather pricey so I don't know if I would pay to come back, student budget and all. It's $14 for entrance and a top up (I can't remember how much) for every additional hour. We went on a Wednesday night though, so there was a date night promo where the second person got 50% off so that wasn't too bad! 8/10! The place is actually pretty damn amazing, just minus some points for food and price hehe. I wouldn't mind paying more for food if they had a bigger selection but the hourly rate was a bit steep for me.
Back to office on a Thursday preparing my syllabus for the upcoming term.
Indifferent neighbourhood cat whom I always see when I'm on the way to tuition class.
Another Friday, another relief class. These kids are adorable though, they are 22 of them! They look like adorable little puppets scurrying around.
I had 2 other classes after that adorable baby (literally, some of them were still in diapers) class which shattered my body lol. Had to rush home for lunch before my next 3 classes.
Stay home Friday, cooked Teriyaki Salmon Pasta for the papiton and I. I felt that it was a tad too oily but he liked it.
Met my qt for brunch at Le'toile Cafe, they were having an awesome 1 for 1 deal which made their ordinarily slightly high prices super affordable!
The boy had some kind of tuna spaghetti I believe, it was really awesome. I don't know why I always blog about food while I'm hungry, I want some now!
My eggs benedict! The eggs were done well and smoked salmon is always great but I didn't like the type of bread that used - I'm not sure if it's rye bread but I don't particularly fancy hard bread.
Off to a TCM place near his house which is apparently really popular and raved about. I wanted to seek some help for my bad back, the pain had receded but it was still giving me trouble.
On the way there I spotted these beauties.
They're from Australia and are so soft :')
The therapist recommended acupuncture... It was my first time and not painful like I thought but it was also really uncomfortable and I can't say I felt like it helped me ):
Met another doge :')
Otw to my place for an early family Mother's Day celebration!
On Sunday morning after mass, we headed to Tiong Bahru for our own private Mother's Day lunch. Saw this adorable little kitty sleeping in a window.
The queen at The Orange Thimble.
Smoked Salmon Bagel.
Something Chicken Wrap haha.
Shepard's Pie!
After all the morning shenanigans I went to meet my qt since I was in his area.
Snack lol.
