One day prior to my birthday I met up with Joni and Jx for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was actually a surprise pre-birthday treat for me!
Beautiful fresh rose from Joni :3
Salmon Fettucini which was glorious.
I can't remember the name of this dish but it was some kind of chilli beef with parmesan and it was absolutely amazing.
On my actual birthday I went into work as per usual and all was same old until mid morning when my colleague knocked on my classroom and handed this huge bouquet to me.
I was so delighted to receive them - I love flowers so so much but also, I knew that the boy has been incredibly busy at work and it just touched me to know that he made time to make me happy (:
Delighted kitty :3
After lunch I headed down to Dempsey for a training session. Starting July, I'll be teaching & assisting with Speech & Drama classes. The kids were so adorable I wanted to cuddle them.
Little kitty
And a little bunny. This little one was particularly sweet <3 The day passed by pretty quickly, after this training I headed over to my tutee's place and had a session with her. I got home pretty late and whipped up some noodles for myself before heading to bed, I was pretty bushed.
The day after, I went to work with the kids in the morning but took the afternoon off for some pampering. The spa I went to served me lovely apple tea which I appreciated so much (mainly because I hate ginger tea which is typical of such places).
So refreshed after my facial.
My face felt so soft and supple it made me so happy! Only downside was that they gave me a head massage as well and that made my hair a little oily... which wasn't ideal. *shrugs* To continue the theme of pampering, I went to get myself a manipedi :3
In the evening, the boy brought me to this amazing pasta place at Tanjong Pagar - Pasta Brava.
It was rather crowded, especially for a Wed night so it was a good thing that he made a reservation. The service was good too, friendly staff.
I thought that it was rather cute that the tables were covered with mahjong paper and that there were little baskets of chalk for kids to doodle with.
Mushroom soup & bread for entree. To be honest, the soup didn't do much for me, but that was the only dish that I didn't love.
Prosecco
So adorable :3
We had crayfish pasta & mushroom risotto, unfortunately I do not remember the exact Italian name for these dishes - but I'm sure that every single plate they have is beautiful, these two certainly were. We actually managed to finish it all despite the overload of carbs, love love love - I want some now.
Just before we ordered dessert, the staff surprised us with a tiramisu birthday cake, that was very delightful indeed (:
Our next stop was this cute little place called Ding Dong, which actually turned out to be not so small after all. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday night but we managed to find a quiet-ish corner.
Looking smug after he ordered "mystery drinks" for me.
I loved this so much, it was light and fruity and 100% girly! There was also another darker and more serious looking drink that turned out to be made from pi pa gao syrup (a chinese throat soothing syrup of sorts). That was very interesting indeed but it was a little too strong for my liking so he had it :3
So flushed from the drinks, I'm a typical Asian yes.
Last stop was LeVel 33. I was really glad that we made it here because I was initially feeling rather tired and contemplated on heading home. Thankfully, the boy insisted on making this last visit before leaving.
No regrets at all. It was a perfect night. I had never actually wined/dined here before, much less caught the beautiful night view by the outside tables. The air was cool and there wasn't the drone of surrounding chatter so we had a pretty amazing time just enjoying each other's company.
Fuzzy but happy picture, if only all nights were this magical :')
