We arrived at Beauville airport early in the morning and touched down at Nykoping at 11 odd am. We had over 7 hours to kill before our bus headed to Uppsala would arrive and the initial plan was to explore the city and its famous castle but our bags were so bulky (mainly mine), that we decided to just relax. Had an Asian buffet for lunch and then settled down at this British pub.
He tried some apparently raved-about beer and I had chocolate truffle!
We arrived at Uppsala at 11pm and started searching for our b&b in the cold, dark night. It was actually really near to the central station but we got a little lost - almost like another amazing race for us. We tried various doors/streets until we finally found our place; it was so so worth it. The apartment was absolutely beautiful.
Fully equipped kitchen: Stove, fridge, oven, microwave, even came with what seemed like hundreds of bowls/plates/dishes of various shapes and sizes and all sorts of cooking utensils etc. The landlady also left various condiments and spices, baking tools and multiple full sets of knives - all free for us to use <3
The living room was furnished with lovely paintings (looked self-painted) and posters, warm rugs on the couch, playing cards on the table, a guitar, a keyboard, DVDs, and loads of books EVERYWHERE.
It led into the tiny bedroom which I loved.
Extremely soft (but not too soft) bed and again... huge shelf of books.
My favourite part: fairy lights around the bed! We had a short snack and then crashed pretty quickly, felt like heaven in that bed :3
We planned to go to Macs in the morning because he wanted to try the "Swedish Macdonalds' hash brown". But their breakfast menu was already taken down.
So we had brunch at Rififi instead because I was craving for pizza (haven't had it for a long long time).
He had pasta!
And my "kids size" pizza which was huge, I had to con him into eating a few pieces for me because I was dying.
Brought him to the Uppsala Cathedral for some photo taking before visiting Museum Gustavianum that was right across the street!
I love cool lights.
Egyptian section
Uppsala University history room
First notebook full of lecture notes! The handwriting/alignment was impeccable considering there were no guiding rows/columns.
Viking history
Round hall that students would gather at to observe live dissections of body parts.
My qt :3
Headed up to the Uppsala Castle & Museum but didn't spend too much time inside.
The weather was lovely so we hung out in the sun for a bit! Sporting an amazing centre parting in the picture, lololol.
Went for a late lunch at my favourite cafe near Engleska Parken!
After this we went to visit Carolina Rediviva briefly before heading to Ikea to meet Glen for dinner; after which we headed back to my place to collect his luggage and pack. It was an extremely busy day, by the time we got back to our b&b again... Dead tired.
